Trauma Therapy in Farmington, Utah

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Find freedom from traumatic memories and
difficult experiences that keep you stuck

Trust that you’re never so broken that you can’t heal

Take back control of your thoughts, emotions, and life.

Many of us find ourselves carrying the weight of past experiences and emotional burdens that affect our present. Whether it's the lingering impact of a traumatic event, the weight of unresolved conflicts, or the feeling of being stuck in unproductive patterns, these emotional struggles can prevent us from fully enjoying the present and planning for a brighter future.

By focusing on the root causes of trauma, EMDR helps you process challenging memories and emotions in a way that allows you to regain control over your life. By addressing the emotions and experiences that may be holding you back right now, you can rediscover your inner strength, resilience, and ability to embrace each day with renewed hope and emotional freedom.

EMDR is used in combination with psychotherapy, which can yield faster, more comprehensive, and lasting outcomes.

EMDR Therapy - Available in Utah

A traumatic memory may become so vivid you can see, feel, and hear it like when it happened. When it overpowers you, it can feel like you are stuck or overcome with emotional symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety.

EMDR has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, and other mental health conditions.

EMDR therapy involves the use of eye movements, tapping, or other types of rhythmic stimulation to help you process and reframe traumatic memories and experiences, helping to reduce emotional distress and develop more adaptive coping mechanisms.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When you undergo EMDR, you access memories of a trauma event in a very specific way - this is done at a pace comfortable with the client. Eye movement/bilateral stimulation are used to help process the memories while being guided by the therapist. Client will be educated to all the steps before starting EMDR.

  • Emdr is done during individual sessions. For some couples going through therapy, if one person needs EMDR, we schedule those individually and continue couples therapy as needed.
